Fluffy Lamb, named one of the top Indonesian restaurants.
Chef Tony Darwinto puts an Indonesian spin on charcoal-grilled lamb. Top picks include the char-grilled lamb ribs with rice, the grilled rujak barramundi and of course, grilled lamb and chicken satay.
The style of food served at The Fluffy Lamb is a hybrid that Darwinto calls “Sutra”. It combines the aromatic, fragrant and often searingly hot cuisine of Sulawesi with the balance of savoury notes and spice typical of his native Sumatra.
This Fremantle Market eatery is a must-try for those who haven’t yet discovered its charm. The menu is simple – meats cooked over charcoal and served with peanut sauce and rice (one of the rice options flavoured with bone-marrow!). It doesn’t get much better than this.
The WA Good Food Guide is a celebration of all that is excellent in the Western Australian dining scene across all areas of cooking, entrepreneurship, wine, beer and service and this is what they have to say about Fluffy Lamb, part of The Top 100 list – “In an unassuming street-food stall tucked away in Fremantle Markets, Fluffy Lamb churns out Indonesian charcoal barbecue that delivers big on flavour.”
