Transperth operates an integrated public transport system throughout the Perth metropolitan area consisting of bus, train and ferry services.
With a valid Transperth ticket, you can use any combination of bus, train and ferry services for up to three hours. Transperth has two types of ticketing, cash tickets and SmartRider, Transperth’s electronic ticketing system. Transperth recommends SmartRider as it ensures that you pay the appropriate and lowest fare – saving you up to 25 per cent on a cash ticket.
Transperth provides a number of ways for you to plan your journey. You can use JourneyPlanner at their website; access 136213.mobi from a WAP enabled mobile phone to access timetables, SmartRider balances and Transperth news; or SMS Transperth to find out when the next few services are scheduled to leave from any stop. Telstra, Optus and Virgin customers can SMS 13 62 13 while other customers need to use 0429 33 22 11.
