On this spectacular Tablelands adventure, they visit the ancient Cathedral Fig Tree. An 800 year old relic of the flora kingdom. Learn about the intricate life story of the Giant Fig while enjoying morning chorus. Over 120 birds can be found and heard in the area.
Travelling on to Lake Barrine for some beautiful morning tea, your guide will take you on a journey through the lakeside rainforest. Enjoy a one hour lake cruise for more wildlife opportunities. Listen out for their Bird of Paradise, the Victoria’s Rifle Bird and many other elusive creatures.
They continue on their way for a delicious seafood lunch and some Platypus spotting!
To finish off the day, they take in the fantastic panoramas of Milla Milla lookout and a nice long swim or simply relax at Lake Eacham, often a highlight and a pleasant cool off. Returning to Cairns approximately 5.30pm.

The only guided Hiking Experience in Cairns! Don’t expect to see much traffic on the walk! Perfect right? Beautiful Lamb Range is an hour drive west of Cairns and towers high above the Dinden National Park surrounds.
Expect an early start! They like to begin their hikes while the birds are singing and their wildlife are becoming active.
The track consists of open woodland, giant gum trees, savanna habitat and beautiful iconic Xanthorrhoea grass trees. As you gain height you’ll notice abrupt granite boulders coursing the summit area, providing spectacular scenery.
They will provide their guests with snacks and fruit to keep your energy high while on the hike. On your return from the walk, you’ll travel a short distance to Davies Creek for your picnic lunch and a swim!
The trail is a 10 kilometre experience of a lifetime. The Rainforest habitat near the summit with it’s beautiful Oraniopis palms and Cycads will amaze you! Experience the smells and sounds of the ancient Wet Tropical Rainforest.
They have access to several mountain ranges to allow guests of all fitness levels the opportunity to enjoy their Hiking Tour.

The early bird gets the worm! Starting at 6:30am, we spend the morning exploring the Tropical Wetlands and Shared Earth Reserve which is home to over 220 recorded bird species, this site is exclusive to FNQ Nature Tours guests only.
First stop is a walking tour of Clancy’s Lagoon. Followed by a short break for morning tea, preparing us for a 4WD adventure and walking tour of Pandanus Lagoon.
Guests then enjoy a picnic style lunch under a shady billabong during the heat of the day.
In the afternoon we venture into the nearby Atherton Tablelands and other locations such as Lake Barrine and Yungaburra to further our bird watching prospects. These locations have afforded our customers amazing birdlife encounters and opportunities for photographs over the years.
