The Old Clare Hotel

The Chippendale Lofts are contemporary and spacious, with a private bedroom and sitting area over two levels. Furnished with a mix of vintage designer and custom furniture, a super king sized bed and white marble bathrooms.

There are only two Showroom Suites at Old Clare – each impressive and each has a unique heritage bar salvaged from the defunct brewery and restored carefully. The suites feature vintage designer furniture and lamps, super king beds and modern oversized bathroom.

The Connell Room is the most plentiful, with 29 rooms, at the Old Clare – but don’t let that you fool you; each one is unique. Every room has a ceiling of at least three metres and features vintage designer furniture and lamps and luxe modern bathroom with dual his and hers vanities.

The hotels second largest suite is named after Mary O’Shea, a legendary character in Chippendale. Only one of this remarkable suite is available, and offers a separate entertaining and dining area for up to eight guests, a wet bar and sleeping quarters overlooking Kensington Street. The suite has ample space for a comfortable stay, but can also be used for meetings and small private dining events.

The Abercrombie Room is slightly larger than their impeccable standard room, and has an equally high ceiling and features a freestanding bath, vintage designer furniture, a super king sized bed and modern open bathroom.

The C.U.B. suite is located in the former Carlton and United Brewery’s boardroom and still features its original timber panelling, parquetry floors, cornices, an antique fireplace and even the restored executive men’s washroom. Across more than 100 square metres, this grand suite offers spacious separate sleeping quarters, ample living and dining space with an eight-seater table and an anteroom with library.

There are ten Clare Rooms, offering an average size of 44 square metres and each with very different features; be it the marble lobby and corniced ceiling in the former C.U.B administration building lobby, the exposed structural elements in the corner rooms, the original curved glass windows or one of the stylish new rooms on the upper floors; all of them lend themselves perfectly for gazing out pensively and plotting your next big cocktail lunch.

Named after the bar’s legendary pub predecessor, it has generous space with high ceilings and feature vintage designer furniture and lamps, super king size beds and separate bathtub and shower.
