Markdale Station Farmstay is a beautiful country retreat that offers total privacy, seclusion and charming accommodation for up to 24 people, surrounded by over 6,300 acres of rolling hills in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.
The property is a fully-operational merino sheep and cattle farm only three hours from Sydney and under two hours from Canberra, featuring one of Australia’s great country gardens.
Spanning five acres around the main homestead, the pioneer of Australian landscape gardening, Edna Walling, redesigned the garden in 1949 and it has been featured in many books and magazines over the years.
Guests can stay in the two original 1850’s Stone Cottages and Shearer’s Quarters. All are self-contained and offer a comfortable and authentic country experience.

The Four Bedroom Original Homestead features a king ensuite room, double bedroom and two twin bedrooms sleeping up to eight guests.
The cottage is self contained with a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine, an open fire in the lounge room, second bathroom, barbecue, central heating, electric blankets, satellite television, wifi and shared laundry.
Guests have access throughout their stay to the beautiful five acre Edna Walling Garden garden, solar heated pool, and tennis court.
The cottages are available to rent separately or together to accommodate groups of up to 24.

Guests also have the adjoining Wool Classers Hut for group dining throughout their stay. It is located directly next to the Shearers. The hut has tables, chairs, a bar fridge and a bbq.
