Summerland Farm
Things To Do Alstonville, Ballina, New South Wales
Miniature goats, alpacas, guinea pigs, mini donkeys and cows will all be vying for the kids’ attention at Summerland Farm – and with an adventure playground, a water-play area, farm tours on a train pulled by a tractor and some great food options, this is an ideal spot for a family outing.
A working macadamia and avocado farm on a beautiful 96-hectare property at Alstonville, in the Ballina hinterland, Summerland Farm also happens to be a business with a heart: it employs more than 100 people with disabilities.
And its attractions aren’t just for kids. This is a great location to discover the delights of the Northern Rivers food bowl, whether in the licensed restaurant or the farm café (handily placed next to the adventure playground). Food options include high tea, perhaps with a glass of bubbly in hand, and farm picnics, where you can pick up a hamper packed with goodies and a selection of blankets and cushions, and find a perfect spot to soak up the gorgeous views.
