Outback Geo Adventures is a geotourism operator based in Balranald, specialising in tours to Mungo National Park and the heritage listed Willandra Lakes and the astonishing floodplains and wetlands of Yanga National Park.

Outback Geo Adventures’ aim is to give an all-encompassing ‘geo’ approach to your experience based on the principles and dimensions of knowledge that geotourism intends to promote and sustain.

Operating since 2012, the tours are flexible and personalised, focused on experiences of most interest to guests. All tours are conducted by German Ugarte, owner and operator, and are dedicated to small group touring only.

Services

This tour runs all year round, and is approximately eight hours duration.

The trip includes a visit to the Historical Homebush Pub (closed on Mondays), afternoon tea at Mungo lookout, Mungo Visitor and Interpretive Centre, historic Mungo Woolshed, and guided walk to the Walls of China/Picnic.

Tours are all inclusive and guests only need to bring good walking shoes and a hat, your guide will supply all the rest.

This tour usually runs April to September and is approximately eight hours duration.

Trip includes morning tea at Balranald’s Old Gaol, guided tour of Mungo Loop, lunch at Mungo Lookout, Mungo Visitor and Interpretive Centre, historic Mungo Woolshed, guided walk to the Walls of China/Picnic and a visit to the old Homebush Pub.

Tours are all inclusive and you only need to bring good walking shoes and a hat, and your guide will supply all the rest.

This three and a half hour tour leaves from Balranald well before sunset and gives a great introduction to Yanga’s pastoral heritage and Aboriginal history. The tour includes guided visits to the historical Yanga Woolshed and the Homestead. It’s the perfect time to enjoy a few drinks while watching the sunset from Yanga Lookout, with guests receiving exclusive after-hours access.

This six-hour tour will explore those areas that visitors do not have the opportunity to visit due to access restrictions. On this tour, discover Yanga’s vast network of wetlands and creeks and check on it’s unique flora and fauna. Yanga has on record over 165 species and birds, and it has an incredible biodiversity. Bird lists will be supplied at the start of the tour.
