History Hill

Agri, Mining and Industry

Just 1.5 kilometres north-east of the Hill End Historic Site, north of Bathurst, is History Hill, a museum and underground mine. Nose around and inspect the 10,000 gold rush and colonial-era artefacts, steam engines, gold scales and more.

If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s a 175m underground mine, called The Son of Hope, to explore. The tunnel is well-lit and fun, and makes you feel like you’ve stepped onto a movie set.
