Burrewarra Point Lookout

Natural Attractions

Burrewarra Point lookout offers spectacular views coastal headland views and is a popular land-based whale watching site during the annual spring migration.

The lookout is an easy 10 minute walk from the carpark on Burri Point Road, where a viewing platform will reward with views over Guerilla Bay and looking north toward Batemans Bay.

Just off the main walking track you will see the remains of a concrete bunker, which is all that remains of a radar station used by the RAAF during World War 2.

You can extend the walk by following a number of tracks branching off and leading through twisting Banksia forests toward the headland, which is marked by a large maritime beacon. The location makes it an ideal place to spot whales from September to November but exercise caution and do not approach the unfenced cliff edges.

The waters to the north and south of the point are protected by the Batemans Marine Park and designated as Burrewarra Sanctuary Zone.
