Whitehead Street Wetlands

Natural Attractions

Close to the heart of Corowa and accessible via easy walking trails, the Whitehead Street Wetlands is a beautiful example of seasonal wetlands and grey box woodlands. Wander the paths that meander through the wetlands, a great location for walking, cycling and birdwatching. The Wetlands have been an ongoing project undertaken by the Rotary Club of Corowa and Federation Council, and proudly feature a bird hide, shaded picnic area and signage.

Brolgas and black swans are frequently spotted here, and the Wetlands are home to the Sloane’s Froglet, a vulnerable species endemic to Australia that is most frequently found in wet grasslands and intermittent freshwater marshes around the floodplains of the Murray-Darling Basin. Billy button flowers are regularly found here.
