Howlong Memorial Park

Parks and Gardens

With plenty of room to relax and enjoy the Murray River, Howlong Memorial Park boasts a picturesque foreshore location that is perfect for a family day out. Kids will love a day playing on the play equipment, running around the wide-open lawns, trying their hand at fishing or using their imagination to picnic with pixies and fairies in the Enchanted Hut. Adults can sit back and watch as the Murray River flows by, enjoy a barbecue or picnic under the barbecue area, relax with a good book under the gum trees and discover a place where there is more to life.

The Memorial archway at Howlong Memorial Park was erected by the Howlong RSL and A.I.L.A. Branch in 1948. Plaques listing those who gave their lives for their country during the 1914–18 and 1939–45 wars are on the gateway.

Individual plaques that indicate the service details of those who lost their lives in World War II are located adjacent to the avenue of trees.
