Lake Wyangan

Natural Attractions

Looking for a tranquil setting for a picnic?

Take a short ten-minute drive northwest of Griffith to Lake Wyangan Picnic Area.

Sitting on the shores of Lake Wyangan – a 309-hectare former gypsum mine and natural swamp area- here you will find sheltered picnic areas, barbecue facilities, toilet facilities and large areas of grassed reserve. There is ample space for a game of cricket, ride a bike or enjoy a stroll!

Located throughout the picnic area are numerous animal enclosures, home to roosters, hens, peacocks, geese, kangaroos and deer. For this reason, the Lake Wyangan Picnic Area does not allow pets.

At the shore’s edge is a jetty and free boat ramp access.
