Black Head Reserve, Gerroa
Things To Do Gerroa, Kiama, New South Wales
National Parks and Reserves
Located at the tip of Gerroa’s headland with sweeping views to the south over Seven Mile Beach, towards Shoalhaven Heads and then further across to Beecroft Peninsula. A lovely spot for a picnic or a stroll, most of Black Head is a designated 24-hour dog off-leash area. See the signs in the car parks for more details.
There is also access down to a little beach to the north of the headland, ideal for searching out fossils shells and exploring rock pools. It’s best to wear sandshoes or sturdy sandals in this area as thongs slip easily on the wet rock.
Black Head is also a great spot for whale watching between May and November, with the whales migrating north from May to August, and south from September to November.
