Kiama Coast Walk
Things To Do Kiama, Kiama, New South Wales
The spectacular 20 kilometre Kiama Coast Walk hugs the edge of the continent as it guides you from Minnamurra River in the north to Gerringong’s Werri Beach in the south, passing through the Kiama township – make sure you don’t miss the blowhole!
The route is a mix of sealed paths, grassed tracks and beach walks – however the hills are gentle enough for most levels of fitness. And the views – did they mention the views? Simply breathtaking.
The Kiama Coast Walk is split into three sections of roughly equal distances, but vastly different experiences; do one, two or all three – the choice is yours. Just don’t forget your camera and your intrepid sense of wonder.
You will find route markers and interpretative signs along the way. The last six kilometres between Loves Bay and Werri Beach is particularly blessed with their own rugged and untouched natural beauty. Keep an eye out for whales (May to November), and sea eagles and hawks all year round.
It is rare, but after heavy rain or big swells, Werri Lagoon may be open to the sea, inhibiting your walk on to Werri Beach. Contact Kiama Visitors Centre for an update.
