Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Guided Tours of the ruins of the historic Glen Davis Oil Shale Works, the site of Australia’s first commercial attempt of the supply of petrol. This site was active from 1938 until 1952.

Now on private land, exploring the area is with an experienced tour guide who will share his knowledge of the history, and provide a flash back to what was a very important part of Australian history in the period of the 1930s Depression and WWll.
