Maitland Regional Art Gallery
Things To Do Maitland, Maitland, New South Wales
Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) is a community-driven public gallery where everyone is always welcome.
Steeped in history, the federation gothic building housing MRAG is an awe-inspiring example of early 1900s architecture renowned for its structural features which are of statewide significance.
Originally the Maitland Technical College which opened in 1910, the building has since been reinvigorated by an award-winning extension, expanding the gallery from three gallery spaces to the spacious gallery people know and love today.
MRAG is home to an impressive collection of more than 6,000 works with a focus on work made with, about or on paper. Each year the gallery shows thousands of artworks and creates hundreds of learning activities across 25 exhibitions that are available to enjoy.
The gallery is often buzzing with visitors who enjoy Seraphine Café which slots seamlessly into this artistic home or explore the Gallery Shop which stocks beautiful, quirky and locally crafted artisan products.
Whether you are an art lover or have never visited a gallery in your life, MRAG is a place for everyone.
