The Dairy Johns River

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

The Dairy offers a unique and authentic experience on a dairy farm with a strong focus on consumer education and connecting with the farmers and animals that bring your milk.

From feeding the little calves to touring the milking shed and seeing the cows milked, to learning how to make your fresh butter from scratch, the focus is on hands-on activities and a learning experience that will not only create amazing memories as a family but will also increase the value you place on Australian dairy products.

Their goal is to develop, not only a connection but an understanding of how dairy farmers do what they do and why so that more is known about an industry that is so important in Australia but is often misunderstood and criticised unfairly due to a lack of education.
They deliver an interesting and exciting experience that is unique, fun and interactive while maintaining authenticity and honesty.

Come along to one of the weekend or school holiday open days and make memories with your family and friends. Or organise a private booking for a group of 10 or more people.

Designed for families with young kids, this tour is short and sweet with just enough time to immerse yourself in the world of dairy farming and milk production without asking too much of the little ones.

From the calf shed to the milking shed, checking out the morning’s milk cooling in the vats, exploring all the ins and outs of milk production and caring for dairy cows, chatting to a real farmer about how it’s all done and then learning how to make fresh butter from scratch- there’s enough in the standard tour to blow your mind and challenge your perception of how milk is made.

Add to that the memory-making experience of bottle-feeding the little calves and you will leave the farm ready to go and buy plenty of dairy products but your value of the bottle of milk on the shelf at the supermarket will be so much greater!

This is a great tour for the kids- young and old! Allow one hour for this tour and get ready to spend all of that time on a journey of discovery.
