RedGround Truffle Hunts

RedGround Truffles is located in Oberon NSW and offers visitors a unique and educational experience to hunt for the elusive aromatic truffle in Australia’s only truffière that produces three culinary varieties of truffle. The Truffle Hunt, Touch, and Taste experience showcases the exciting world of truffle cultivation guided by experts and trained truffle-hunting dogs.

This immersive experience begins with a truffle tasting and an informative talk about truffle cultivation. Guests are then taken on a guided tour of the truffière with the dogs, where they can discover different truffle varieties and learn about the process of harvesting truffles. Back at the Truffle Hunting Lodge, guests can enjoy a variety of savoury truffle tastings accompanied by Australian sparkling wine and engage in a discussion about truffle grading.

The experience concludes with a sweet truffle tasting, providing visitors with a deeper understanding and appreciation for truffles and how to make delicious truffle dishes that can be easily made at home. Fresh truffles, produce and merchandise is available for purchase.

RedGround is a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Sydney. Parking is available on site for cars and buses.

Truffle hunting requires guests to wear comfortable sturdy shoes that have rubber soles and are waterproof to step into a biosecurity footbath. Sunscreen, warm clothes, hat, and wet weather clothing as hunts occur in all weather conditions (including rain and snow).
