Alpine Access can take you beyond the resorts to ride untracked lines in the backcountry. They will design a tour tailored to your ability, experience and fitness, and strive to ensure your day is everything you’ve dreamed of.
An AST 1 course is a must if you venture out of bounds, off the trails or into the backcountry. Alpine Access provides Avalanche Canada AST1 training, designed for the recreational back country skier/snowboarder. You will learn to recognise avalanche terrain, reduce avalanche risk and perform companion rescue, as well as backcountry touring skills, technique and etiquette.

From $650 to $700
For those wanting to be guided on their first back country experience, Alpine Access offer introductory days. Their focus is on making it as enjoyable and informative as possible, and the day will be tailored to your ability, fitness and what you want to get out of it. You will learn about touring equipment and technique, route selection, safe travel in the back country, and snow craft skills. They will assist you with organisation of equipment for the tour.

If you are an advanced skier or boarder of good fitness, are familiar with ski touring equipment and techniques and would like to experience a full day’s touring out on the Main Range, you have come to the right place!
Alpine Access have extensive experience touring and guiding in the Australian backcountry, and know when and where to go, for the best day possible. They are all about educating their clients, and during the tour they will share with you how to plan for safe and successful backcountry touring.
