Wanda Beach Cronulla

Natural Attractions

The furthest North of Cronulla’s beaches is Wanda Beach, great for surfers and sand-lovers alike. Due to the fact that it’s a little further away from the restaurants and cafes of Cronulla, Wanda beach can often a bit quieter. It’s also great for families too.

Above the beach is Don Lucas Reserve – a fantastic grassed open area offering a range of recreation activities including a fitness track, covered adventure playground, picnic facilities, half basketball court and exercise equipment.

Wanda, an Aboriginal word for beach or sand hills, is the northernmost patrolled beach along the Bate Bay coastline in Cronulla.

The 1.5-kilometre sandy beach is patrolled from November to April by Sutherland Shire Council’s professional lifeguards together with volunteer lifesavers from Wanda Surf Club. Be mindful of rips and always swim between the red and yellow flags.

Deep rips and bars can combine to produce some excellent beach breaks making it a popular surf spot.

There is Wanderer Cafe, along with toilets and beach showers.
