Art Gallery of New South Wales

From its magnificent site on Sydney Harbour, on Gadigal land, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of Australia’s flagship art museums and the state’s leading visual arts institution.

Each year, over one million visitors enjoy the Art Gallery and the large collection of art. Located within beautiful parklands overlooking Sydney Harbour and only a 15-minute walk from the city centre. Admission is free, as are most of the exhibitions and events.

In 2021 the Art Gallery celebrated its 150th anniversary, and in 2022 it completed its significant expansion through the Sydney Modern Project. This transformation creates a new art museum campus across two buildings connected by a public art garden in one of the world’s most beautiful cultural precincts.
