Visit this remarkable landscape on this photography tour with Len Metcalf. Visit both ends of this amazing wilderness, from the Pieman River in the South, to Arthur River in the North. Stunning, rugged, seascape shoots and lush temperate rainforests full of huge ferns and stunning green mosses.

Photograph towering Antarctic myrtles and Huon pines up to 3000 years old. Explore forests of ferns and beech in Australia’s largest remaining temperate rainforest. Visit the historic town of Corinna and experience the windswept northwest coast.

While on tour they will divide your time between two gateways to the Tarkine: Tall Timbers Hotel near Smithtown to the north and Corinna to the south. These locations allow easy access to the rivers, rainforests and coastlines we will be photographing during the tour.

Join Shirley Steel and Len Metcalf in this creative photographers retreat. Located at Leura in the heart of the Blue Mountains. A fully inclusive immersive experience. Designed for the creative photographer. This is perfect for those wishing time to explore their art and wish to extend their creative practice. Work with us and be supported in creating a body of work.

During the retreat you will actively work on your own personal project. We will help you prepare, plan, create and materialise your project. For example in the past previous attendees have produced a handmade artist book, an exhibition of prints or a portfolio of prints (with box).

This retreat is intended for photographers and artists with some experience in photography.

On this tour, photographer Len Metcalf will pick you up Monday morning in Adelaide from your hotel, and whisk you down to Kangaroo Island, where we will stay and photograph throughout the week. You will be returned to Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

A photographic tour and workshop on Kangaroo Island with Len will be an unforgettable experience. Full of unique wildlife opportunities, birds and wildflowers. A five day workshop learning abstract creative photography. Explore abstraction, blurs, textures, movement and seascapes. From abstract realism through to the gentle and emotive works of intentional blurring, all abstract photographic styles are tackled. Photographic composition and technique covered in lessons and presentations showing you how to create your own stunning works of abstract photographic art. Learning activities and shoots are intertwined into a magnificent week of growth and development in this stunning coastal paradise.
