The Modern Bowral

Shopping and Markets

Since opening in the Southern Highlands in February 2018, The Modern Bowral hasn’t looked back. The company’s hard-to-miss showroom, street level at the Milk Factory Building on Station St, houses an enticing range of new mid-century modern furniture and accessories. The Danish-designed furniture range, which includes solid timber dining tables and chairs, lounge-and-linger sofas and handsome armchairs, is complemented by accessories from Marimekko, Normann Copenhagen, ArchitectMade and other Scandinavian brands.

The Modern’s furniture pieces feature clean, sleek lines, finely and cleverly crafted from natural timbers – including elm, oak, beech, ash and birch – synonymous with Scandinavian style. The combination of light, natural timbers and vibrant accessories transforms living areas, turning houses into inviting homes.

Residing in a mid-century modern home is not a prerequisite for embracing Scandinavian style or visiting The Modern. Whether you live in old cottage in the Highlands or a minimalist modern dwelling on the South Coast, pieces from The Modern will look right at home.
