Anna Smyrk and Zailya

With a voice described as truly astonishing by Rolling Stone, Anna Smyrk is a powerful singer and song maker from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia). Her songs are anthem indie bombshells, pairing vulnerable lyrics with explosive arrangements and undeniable hooks. The last 12 months have been massive for Anna, with highlights including supporting Birds of Tokyo and Tim Rogers, touring North America and Europe, official showcases at NXNE (Canada), Folk Alliance International (USA) and Live at Heart (Sweden) and recording a new EP in Nashville with award-winning producers Jake Finch and Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus).

Zailya is a 21-year old Australian/Swiss/Congolese singer songwriter, producing music with a mix of pop, soul, rhythm and blues and folk influences. Zailya’s influences include Ed Sheeran, Jessie Reyez, Dennis Lloyd and Amy Winehouse, and these solo artists and their distinct sounds have contributed to Zailya’s songwriting style. Moving from Switzerland to Australia at the age of 8, Zailya combined her native French with Australian English, this cultural diversity is evident in the unique quality to her singing voice and sound.

This is an all ages event with under 18s to be accompanied by an adult, in a fully accessible venue.
