Historical Maidens Hotel

Bars

Cold beer, hot meals, entertainment, pool table and a selection of local characters that are only too willing to have a chat. Try the silver service dining room, have a counter meal or select from the range of takeaway hot packs.

Burke and Wills visited this hotel in 1860, the known as Tom Paine’s pub before setting off on their ill-fated journey north. The original hotel was built in 1853 but destroyed by fire in the early hours of April 23rd 1999.
