Mountain Goat Newtown

While the Mountain Goat craft brewing story began in Melbourne, it is now firmly loved in Sydney thanks to the 2020 opening of the brand’s first brewpub in Newtown. The industrial-chic space brews beers that are only available in Newtown, with 12 taps pouring Mountain Goat’s range, including the crisp Organic Steam Ale; the hoppy, fruity Pale Ale; and the Summer Ale. Order a pint of something cold, and head out into the beer garden to enjoy your drink in the sun. If you’re not into beer, never fear – there’s also an extensive list of cocktails (the team also make a hopped gin) and wines.

The food menu here is an extended line-up of pub classics: pizzas, burgers served on milk buns with chips, parmis, pies and fish-and-chips. As the joint is family friendly, there’s also a special menu dedicated to kids.
