Gloucester River Winery
Food and Drink Faulkland, Mid-Coast, New South Wales
Gloucester River Winery enjoys the most scenic setting of any winery in the Gloucester Valley, with intimate views of the stunning Buccan Buccans (the Bucketts Mountains).
Gloucester River Winery is a boutique vineyard situated on 30 acres by the Gloucester River and grows and produces wines with no added preservatives. The on-site cellar creates small lot vintages of 200-500 litres. Owner and winemaker John is passionate about his preservative-free wines and encourages you to try his chardonnay, rose and more!
The wine is handpicked and handcrafted in the cellar, not the laboratory, and varies each year. The tastes are driven by climate, not what can be manufactured through blending. The wines are faithful to both their variety and the growing conditions.
Using 460-year-old methods from Central Europe, the wines are characterful, often intense and completely authentic. There are no additives, chemicals, pesticides, chemical sprays, fertiliser other than that generated by the property’s cattle and turned into ‘cow pat tea’ before being sprinkled around the vines.
This is a vineyard that makes wine like it used to be made.
Visit, taste, and picnic by the river!
