South Dowling Sandwiches

This family-owned café has been dishing up bulging sandwiches and delicious salads for more than 15 years. There’s a reason why locals love it so much – ingredients are super fresh, and the flavour combinations are inventive and tasty.

Sandwiches range from chicken schnitzel with herb mayo to smoked salmon, dressed with lemon mayo, lettuce and cucumber. There’s also an enormous veggie option that unites hummus, potato salad, caramelised carrots, mushrooms, lentils, green beans, grilled eggplant, beetroot and more. Favourites take on personas: There’s the Brad Pitt (chicken schnitzel and about 10 other toppings) and The Jimmy (chilli chicken and avocado), among others. Meanwhile, all salads begin with a base of vegetables and then can be topped with the likes of tuna, poached chicken or ham.
