The Post Office

Restaurant and Cafe

Built in the late 1800s, the Post Office, located right next to the famous Moss Vale train line linking Sydney to the Southern Highlands, was the main official building of this small town. It played a vital role as it delivered mail to its inhabitants as well as provided constant communication between the city and the area to visiting governors. It stayed as a Post Office for over 100 years.

In the 1990s it began morphing into offices, a bank and 20 years later, cafes. In March 2017 restorations began to bring back to life, and back to the 21st Century, this beautiful heritage listed building. Today, it serves breakfast and lunch in charming surrounds including a sunny courtyard.

The Post Office is situated right in the midst of Moss Vale, which is no longer a little sleepy, country town but, a vibrant place to be with an array of boutiques, restaurants, shops and an easy train ride up to Sydney (or down to Melbourne).
