Where To Stay Colosseum, Gladstone, Queensland
Nestled at the base of Mugul Mountain (or Mt Colosseum), one hour’s drive south of Gladstone in Queensland, their 300-acre property offers a unique experience.
Mugul Mountain is a sacred Indigenous site for the local Gooreng Gooreng people and a national park.
It was a meeting place for the Toolooa, Merooni and Gooreng Gooreng peoples who would meet at Mugul once a year for a corroboree.
Stay overnight in the nearly completed homestead, a Balinese inspired pole home, or you can camp on the property or bring your caravan. They are a pet-friendly bed and breakfast and camping site. Guests can stay in one of their two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed.
Large verandas surround most of the house. Relax with the cool breezes that arrive each afternoon and check out the mountain. They have walking tracks for the adventurous.
For campers and grey nomads they have basic unpowered sites available.
Horses and their owners are welcome.
They are one hour from Gladstone and one and a half hours from Bundaberg.
Mugul Mountain Retreat is located halfway between Brisbane and Mackay.

Our bed and breakfast offers two types of accommodation. Guests can book one of two bedrooms in the homestead or from January book a luxury cabin with en suite.
For those wishing to camp on site they have a range of sites available from AUD$30 for two people per night.
