Hart Hill Camping
Where To Stay Thanes Creek, Southern Downs, Queensland
Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. The initial view of the property over the Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. 500m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge a lovely undulating fold is exposed baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs 1600M of creek.
Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is flat, and every site has access to the seasonal creek providing opportunities to fish, swim, and kayak. Hugging the creek is a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek with an old windmill as a backdrop and an open area in the middle of the grounds provides plenty of space for kids to kick a ball, and dogs to run.
Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, with a colorful history of gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky from the 1860’s. Campers have exclusive access to fossick and pan hire is available.
The hosts, Mark and Jane aim to ensure campers feel the heart we have for our property. Campers receive country hospitality, going over and above to ensure sites are comfortable, people are alerted to what the area has to offer, what events and activities are happening, and feel they are in a clean and safe environment.
