The Scenic Rim is a chain of forested mountain ranges forming an expansive quarter circle ridge, that is part of the Great Dividing Range. The imposing rim of mountain ranges date back millions of years, when they were created by volcanic activity. This activity caused the regions lush flora and fauna to flourish and provided fertile grounds for rainforests to prosper.

The region boast six National Parks with four of these National Parks declared World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rain forest of Australia areas. This three day pack free walk explores three of the most spectacular locations of the Scenic Rim including Main Range National Park, Moogereh Peaks National Park and the impressive Mount Barney. Exploring breathtaking mountain ridges, lush rain forests and ancient volcanic plateaus renown for their breathtaking scenery this will be an unforgettable walking experience.

The Scenic Rim is a vast area covering over four thousand square kilometres and featuring six National Parks. On this 3-day pack-free walk, you will explore escarpments, ridges and forests across ancient volcanic plateaus of the Great Dividing Range of the most spectacular areas of the Scenic Rim.

One of the biggest drawcards of this walk is that our guests won’t be asked to carry their clothes or overnight bags for the entire walk. This is a big advantage for our guests, in that you will avoid carrying an additional 8kg or more on your back every day. This three day pack free walk traverses the spectacular Lamington National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland, a unique World Heritage Area comprising of Australia’s largest remnant of ancient subtropical Gondwana Rainforests. On this walk you will explore misty forests of 2000 year old Antarctic beech trees, rugged mountain scenery, lush palm filled gullies and cascading crystal clear streams. A birdlovers paradise, this area is home to more than 230 species including the rare Albert’s lyrebird and regent bowerbird as well as Australia’s largest collection of sub tropical birds. This unique and special region is not to be missed.
