Turtle Bommie

Natural Attractions

Scuba Diving Site, Lady Musgrave Island.

Exactly as it sounds, the Turtle Bommie is a turtle cleaning station for a large number of resident loggerhead turtles, green turtles and hawksbill turtles. It’s basically a day spa in the Great Barrier Reef for our resident marine life to pamper themselves and freshen up! The highly territorial and tiny, colourful damselfish also visit to clean their shells and bodies. It’s filled with massive bushy corals and finger coral colonies, also known as porites.

Turtle Bommie is located within the calm, turquoise waters of the lagoon. Diving the Turtle Bommie is a shallow lagoon wall dive with a depth of up to 10m, which is perfect for non-certified beginners with no experience, or certified divers looking for a leisurely dive during the day or night. Dive straight in from Lady Musgrave HQ’s dive platform!

There’s a rainbow of colours found in the Turtle Bommie with lots of small, tropical, colourful fish, such as blue and green chromis, damselfish and butterflyfish. These small, quick-moving marine fishes belong in the Chaetodontidae family with vivid colouration and striking patterns
