Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours launched in 2015 and their tours and events are focused on Mandingalbay Yidinji people, culture and country and sharing their rich traditional history with local, domestic and international visitors.
In addition to their half-day Hands-on Country Eco Tour, Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours also offers Hands-on Country River Cruise, and Deadly Dinners, Cairns’s most accessible off-site cultural event venue.

This unforgettable experience begins with a short transfer by vessel across the Trinity Inlet to the natural surrounds of East Trinity Environmental Reserve, where Guests will disembark the vessel and travel a short way by bus through the magical surroundings to the exclusive Deadly Dinner by Night location.
Guests are captivated by the ambience of the moonlight and their evening complimented by a fusion of traditionally inspired food guaranteed to tantalise taste buds and authentic Mandingalbay Yidinji traditional dancing, Didgeridoo and special guest Internationally Renowned Harpist Natalia Mann, combining the sounds of nature.

Departing the Cairns Reef Terminal and glides across Trinity Inlet, dotted by yachts, and up Hills Creek to where the salty water meets freshwater flowing off the surrounding mountains. Welcome to an Indigenous Protected Area, the largest reserve of its kind in the world. The rainforest-clad mountains of Mandingalbay Yidinji lands is a bush supermarket and pharmacy abundant of food and medicinal plants used for sustenance and healing, which include edible flowers, sweet fruit and native herbs. The air is alive with a chorus of birds all year round, and in the winter months, a cloud of butterfly’s filter the air with their wings as your guide takes you on a short trek at the base of Grey Peaks National Park.

As the sun begins to get low over the Great Dividing Range to the west of Cairns, meet your Mandingalbay Yidjinji guide and push off from Cairns Marina in our new, covered River Cruise vessel, bound for wetlands and mangrove forests of East Trinity Reserve.
Discover an Indigenous Protected Area where ancient knowledge meets latest science to deliver world-first conservation programs.
Cruise along an avenue of ancient mangrove forests. Upon arrival at the Stingray Shelter, enjoy the ancient Mandingalbay custom of a Welcoming to Country and Smoke Cleansing Ceremony. Listen to Mandingalbay Yidinji rangers speak of ancient language, practices and traditional implements that are still made and used.
Light Canapes and cold non alcoholic beverages will be served throughout the evening by their team.
After the event, cruise quietly through the beautiful mangrove lined waterways back into Cairns Harbour, revealing the beauty of the city lights from the water.
