Egg Rock Dive Site

Natural Attractions

Egg Rock is actually three rock pinnacles that rise from 30 metres to break the surface. Located in the Keppel Islands off Yeppoon, Egg Rock is always a reliable place to see schools of pelagic fish and other large marine life. This is a dive for more experienced divers, as not only is it deep, up to 25 metres, but often washed by currents. It is best dived as a drift dive because it is difficult to anchor at this site.

Exploring the walls, gutters and ledges at Egg Rock, divers will find a great variety of corals, reef fish and invertebrate life. But these are easy overlooked as most divers will be too busy watching and photographing the schools of trevally, batfish and barracuda. Egg Rock is also a good place for divers to encounter wobbegongs, tawny nurse sharks, whitetip reef sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, turtles and sea snakes.
