Brooyar State Forest

National Parks and Reserves

Discover the Brooyar State Forest in the Gympie Region. A scenic haven just northwest of the Gympie CBD, explore sandstone cliffs, towering eucalypt forests, lush rainforests, and hoop pine plantations. The cliff-top lookout of Point Pure offers breathtaking western views and is a popular spot for rock-climbing and abseiling enthusiasts.

Extend your stay and relax in the Glastonbury Creek camping area, nestled beside the creek’s sandy stretches and fringed by riparian rainforest. Glastonbury camping area is accessible by conventional vehicles from the Glastonbury township or, for 4WD adventurers, take the Wide Bay Highway turning at Petersen Road. In summer, the forest bursts with color from blooming trees, creating a picturesque backdrop.

Remember to respect the environment, use fuel stoves, and avoid disturbing wildlife or collecting firewood. Find out more and book your permit by heading to the QLD National Parks website.
