Hervey Bay Dive Centre operates the regions only dedicated whale swim experience between July and October.

This exclusive experience is an incredibly special opportunity to watch and swim with one of nature’s most majestic mammals, the Humpback whale, a curious, gentle and trusting creature.

Guest numbers are strictly limited (maximum 24) making for a personal and fun day on the water.

Each sighting is different and every whale swim unique and personal. People that have swam with whales often describe the experience as “life changing”.

Swimming with the whales is conditions dependant and they only do so with the right whales and on their terms.

They provide you with a wetsuit, snorkelling, safety equipment and experienced dive guides.

With the smallest guest numbers in the bay you’ll feel like part of the family and they look forward to welcoming you aboard.

The Ex-HMAS Tobruk rests on the seabed in a area just North of Hervey Bay. She came to rest on her starboard side and does not disappoint as Australia latest dive wreck!

The unexpected orientation only makes for a more interesting and unusual dive. The Tobruk is like no other wreck in the world! She offers a unique diving experience with excellent access and awe inspiring scale. Her stern doors are open revealing her colossal main tank deck and providing a full-length 120 metre swim-through experience.

The depth ranges from 12 to 30 metres with ample interesting sections for Open Water and Advanced divers to feel comfortable and challenged.

Colourful reef fish and anemones will greet excited divers as they descend. Octopus, Lion and Puffer fish and sparkling schools of Baitfish may part as you swim through the second-to-none cavernous tank deck.

For those experienced enough to descend to the seafloor, grouper, cod, wobbegong sharks and rays will await your company.

Their dive departs daily aboard our dedicated high-speed dive vessel. For comfort and safety they limit divers to 10 per trip ensuring a personal experience. You will be guided by members of their highly qualified PADI dive.

Hervey Bay Dive Centre’s ‘Underwater Scooter Adventure Kayak & Snorkel Tour’ will unleash the child within as you embark on a marine journey you are unlikely to forget.

Explore and enjoy the sights of the marine world, both above and below the surface with their kayaks and underwater scooters. Their experienced guides and crew are on hand to assist you to have the most fun imaginable. This is as mild or wild as you want – dive below the surface for a close encounter of the marine kind or cruise on the surface if that suits you better.

The tour is a ton of fun and safe under the guidance of their fully qualified PADI Dive Instructors and Dive Masters.

The tour starts with a short boat ride from Urangan Harbour to one of their popular marine spots; following an induction of the safe and proper handling of the scooters, kayaks and snorkelling techniques they will take you on a tour and a wee bit of an adventure.

They utilise the currents and conditions to ensure the tour in enjoyable and not a too much of a chore.

Lunch and snacks will be served aboard between the various activities.
