MATHEMA Gallery

As the name suggests, this is a gallery/museum of mathematics – the only venue in Australia with this sole focus.

There are 5 separate sections – Outer galleries East and West which focus on some of the oldest cultures, how they used mathematics and influenced what we use today.

The inner galleries focus on calculation methods and binary (needed for digital technology. The library houses over 5000 historical and current references, some as old as the early 1700s. There is a combination of visual and interactive materials.
