Natural Attractions

Nestled in the south east end of the Whitsundays’ Hook Island is Nara Inlet, a secluded bay with tranquil waters that reflect the dense forestry that covers the island’s steep hills. The clear water acts as a window to the fringing reef and is known for its sheltered anchorage and easy access to the island.

Within the hills of the inlet is the Ngaro cultural site; caves with ancient rock wall paintings and interactive displays where you can learn about the history of the Ngaro Aboriginal people.

A visit to Nara Inlet is not complete without venturing further down to the bottom of the inlet, where you will find a magical fresh-water rock pool and refreshing waterfall, however this natural pool only flows during the rainy seasons.
