Wild Rose Cottage

Restaurant and Cafe

Tucked into one of the heritage city’s oldest neighbourhoods, you’ll find an absolute treasure of a little cafe that goes by the name of Wild Rose Cottage.

Sisters Prue and Verity took the business over in 2018 and are helped out by two more sisters, Evangeline and Abigail, as well as Mum Joanne.

The friendly, welcoming space is character-filled and lovely, gift items and cards adorning shelves and a piano in the corner with a “play me” sign.

The menu offers up lots of home-style dishes including a savoury mince that has earned ‘standout favourite’ status, and fresh scones with cream and jam.

High teas are available to book for afternoon tea, and there are always sweets and desserts loaded into the cabinet and on the counter. There’s also a fudge counter – good to know if you’re in need of a sweet hit with coffee to get you through the day!

The cafe is open seven days – see their website for opening hours.
