Gulflander

Discover the Gulf Savannah region aboard the Gulflander from Normanton to Croydon or vice versa. The 1950 railmotor ventures through countryside most people would never see – from wetlands, grasslands to the arid Savannah. Your driver and guide will keep you entertained along the way with unique insights about the local history, fascinating trivia, and amusing stories.

Old RM93 is the longest serving railmotor the line has seen and one of only a few still running in Australia. Built in 1950 it provides a unique experience where you can sit up with the driver and take in his view of this rugged lane. During the journey, passengers will learn about the diverse Gulf landscape and its rich past. You will experience a friendly atmosphere which adds to the charm. Enjoy morning tea en route as the on board accredited Savannah Guides keep you entertained with trivia, species identification, amusing stories and colourful characters.
