Wattle Point – Bush Campground
Where To Stay Honiton, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia
Wattle Point Campground is located approximately 8km from Edithburgh, including 6km of unsealed road, via Wattle Point Road. It is a short walk (30m) through the dunes to the peaceful Sheoak Beach; a great spot for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and beach walking. The beach is mostly sand, but a reef is nearby and the seaweed can build up at times.
There are a few sites in the campground that have shade coverage and the dunes provide protection against onshore wind. The campground is suitable for big vans, but sites are unallocated – it is first in best dressed. A toilet is provided, but self-sufficient camping is encouraged. The closest bin bank is in Edithburgh, on Sultana Point Drive, across from the Caravan Park. The Wattle Point Windfarm is nearby and turbines can be heard at night.
Edithburgh is a historical coastal town with facilities including – café’s, general store, 2 hotels, museum, local crafts, public toilets, petrol station, jetty, boat ramp and shops.
