We are 4th generation Pear growers and self taught Perry (Cider) makers based in Paracombe in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

Come and join us for a tour, starting on the trees the fruit is grown, through the treatment, storage and grading of fruit followed by the further processing into our range of Australian award winning Ciders and Perry.

Our orchard has rich history dating back to 1932 and we now offer tours by appointment for groups of all sizes and ages.

A tasting of our products including Perry, Cider and Non Alcoholic juice are available and we can also match with local cheeses for the whole tree to bottle experience.

Once the tour is completed, we have a commercial kitchen and specialise in artisan sour dough wood oven pizzas. Lunch or dinner can be enjoyed overlooking our family orchard from our new all weather heated viewing area.

Tour and tasting at our family orchard and Shed Door

Join Paracombe Premium Perry for a personal educational tour and tasting at their shed door, located on the family orchard Est 1932. We take you through a comprehensive tree to bottle experience of how pears are grown, how we graft trees to change the variety, how we store fruit all year round, how we grade fruit for the fresh market and also how we then look at the entire process from fruit to bottle on production of our Cider, Perry and fruit juices. This tour will leave no questions unanswered, amaze you with the science behind every action and the work required to produce world class produce. It will fundamentally change how you view fresh food going forward!

Blend your own experience at Paracombe

Join founder and cider maker Damian McArdle for a fun filled “Blend your own” experience. Damian will take you on the journey of blending a base cider to your taste, explaining every step along the way. Use a range of different products to adjust mouthfeel, flavour, sweetness and learn tricks for use at home on your cider journey! Finish with judging analysis of your product to better understand different aspects of your finished product. This experience is fun, engaging and absolutely no experience is required!

Become a pear grower for a day at Paracombe

Join our family at Paracombe Premium Perry and Chamberlain orchards for a day in the life of a pear grower.

You will learn day to day insights into our commercial orchard, learn different processes such as pruning, thinning, picking pear trees, or maybe grading fruit, blending cider or a combination of the above!

Every day is different, but the educational experience of joining our family will never change. You will be our special assistant for the day and finish off with a house cooked meal by our Shed Door team, with any dietary requirements catered for. It may be our house made sourdough pizza cooked in our wood oven, starring the pears that you helped look after, maybe a house smoked extravaganza accompanied by world class drinks from our region.

It is Aussie farming and hospitality at its best and an agricultural tourism experience not to miss!

During select months of the year the great “Pear Hunt” provides a fantastic experience for the whole family.

Experience a true commercial organic orchard at your own pace.

Take a walk at your leisure through our commercial pear orchard and pick some pears to take home and enjoy.

Go on a fruitful treasure hunt where you find many different varieties of pears ready for the picking, and see first-hand how fruit is grown locally.
