Bews fountain was erected in 1892 in memory of David Bews. Bews had been Mayor and was the State Member of Parliament for Wallaroo at the time of his death. He worked hard for and was responsible for bringing reticulated water to Kadina (also Moonta and Wallaroo) from the Beetaloo Reservoir in 1890. The fountain is located in Victoria square.
