Discover McLaren Vale wine region effortlessly with their electric bike self-guided tour, available five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday).

Kickstart your adventure at Red Poles, where breakfast is on the house to ensure you’re fueled up for the journey ahead. Your day will come full circle at Red Poles, offering the choice between a delightful wine flight from the ‘McMurtrie Mile’ cellar doors or a meticulously crafted house cocktail at the end of the day.

Upon securing your booking, a confirmation email will be sent your way, featuring two self-guided maps and itineraries for you to choose from:

McLaren Vale Food, Wine, and Art Adventure:
Immerse yourself in popular wineries, including unique stops for art enthusiasts, such as the iconic D’Arenberg Cube and Hardy’s.

McLaren Vale Food and Beverage Tour:
If wine and art aren’t your focal points, opt for this itinerary, which ventures out to the back of McLaren Flat. Explore McCarthy’s Orchard, cultivating 13 different types of produce, and discover additional gems like the Vale Taphouse, Never Never Distilling, and Ginny Pig!

Your morning breakfast will be available from 9 am, setting the tone for the day’s exploration. All bikes must be returned by 4 pm.

Join this tour of the senses as you travel through the Adelaide Hills and experience all that this beautiful region has to offer. During your 5-hour tour, you will visit four premium locations and sample world-famous produce.

Ride through the region’s stunning valleys. Experienced, local guides will guide you to Beerenberg where you will take part in picking the freshest and the sweetest strawberries (seasonal). Then ride through the historic German town, Hahndorf, and take in its picturesque main street, before riding to the next stop – Udder Delights. Shaw and Smith is the first stop where you are treated to a wine flight of five of their most premium wines – and a rest to take in the stunning views. This bespoke tour of the Barossa Valley begins at Yalumba, the oldest family-owned winery in Australia. Here, take a tour through the cooperage factory and learn about the changes in wine production throughout history.

Experienced guides will lead you on a premium e-bike, winding your way through some of the most picturesque vineyards. Your next destination is Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, where you are treated to a hot chocolate and cake followed by an opportunity to indulge in the best chocolate the Barossa has to offer. From here, it’s back on your e-bike to ride a short distance down the road to Artisans, where Australia’s most famous premium wines will be available to you! Take the opportunity to taste any six wines from their full wine list, including the exclusive ‘Rarities’ list.

Your journey continues to the Barossa Valley Cheese Company Cheese Cellar Tasting, where you can try four mouth-watering cheeses. After this, you’re back on your bike to Yalumba, the final stop. Here you will be served a delectable artisan platter for lunch. You will also have the rare opportunity to be taken through Yalumba’s signature cellar to siphon wine from the barrel!

Experience the best secret views of Adelaide, even locals don’t know about! Ride the empowering Pioneer Women’s Trail and through the Cleland Conservation Park to the summit of Mt Lofty and Mt Osmond. You may even spot Australian wildlife!

Bike About will meet you at The Manna in Hahndorf where they will transport you to Measdays Lookout Mt Lofty where your adventure begins! Walk back 180 years through the tough times of pioneer women and ride along the Pioneer Women’s Trail empowering the resilience they gained. On your Electric bike ride along the sustainable trails that have been built through Cleland Conservation Park. Hear the calming sounds of native birdlife, spot koalas and even kangaroos! You can really relax and immerse yourself in nature, stopping at all the best hidden lookouts.

Have morning tea and enjoy the views at the summit of Mt Lofty Lookout where you can gaze out over the breath-taking divide between city and hills to reflect on your sense of achievement. Then descend through the park back to the summit of Mt Osmond and return back to Hahndorf at around 1.30pm.
