Entrance to the Burra Mine Site is included in the Burra Heritage Passport, available from the Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre, 2 Market Square, Burra.
Copper ore was discovered at Burra in 1845 and by 1850 Burra was the largest metal mine in Australia, employing 1,000 men and boys.
