Located approximately 15kms from Renmark, Calperum Station is conservation property of approximately 240,000 hectares of diverse and stunning landscape. Extending from the Murray River to deep into the Mallee country, Calperum covers approximately one third of the Riverland RAMSAR floodplain and is considered an internationally significant wetland system. With abundant native birds and wildlife, Calperum is home to several rare and threatened species of flora and fauna, and is rich in cultural history

Calperum is managed and protected by a team of Ecologists and Indigenous Rangers who work together to study, recover and preserve the property. They also share its significant ecological values, history and cultural aspects through educational programs and tourism activities. This allows visitors and students alike to experience nature, ecology, culture and conservation land management at its finest.

The Calperum ‘Culture Meets Ecology’ Walk winds along approximately 5kms of stunning creeks and wetlands at Calperum. Guided by Calperum ecologists and rangers, the walk passes various heritage and cultural sites as well as many native plants and animals along the way.

The walk takes approximately 3 hrs to complete and is available to groups of all sizes.
