Father Woods Park

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Father Woods Park is located 21 kilometres north of Penola, and is home to a series of seven sculptures depicting the life of Father Julian Tenison Woods and Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop.

Father Woods Park is dedicated to the life of Father Julian Tenison Woods who served the region from 1857 to 1867.

The sculptures stand in the middle of the park across the road from the Father Woods tree, where where Father Woods used to conduct mass.

The sculptures were skilfully created by Kevin Gilders using only a chainsaw.
