Self-guided tours are available anytime and take approximately 10 minutes.

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery is a family-owned business and has been a popular Kangaroo Island tourist attraction since 1991. We invite you to take yourself on our informative self-tour so you can enjoy the sights at your own pace . Learn the history and how the unique Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaf Mallee is grown, harvested, and distilled to produce our amazing and versatile 100% pure Australian Eucalyptus Oil and natural products.

One of our friendly staff will get you started with a delicious Eucalyptus and Honey sweet, you will enjoy a short presentation and a brief 4-minute video showing historical and recent footage of the oil production process of what was once the major industry on Kangaroo Island. After the video, you will be provided with a map and informative booklet that will lead you through your tour.

Beginning at the shop, you will head out to the distillery, passing our two curious resident emus and the original Macgillivray Post Office along the way while enjoying the natural bush setting and collection of antique farm implements, and equipment dotted about the grounds.

Emu Ridge offers personalized private escorted guided tours. These are only available if they are booked at least 24 hours prior – Times 9, 11 or 2.30

Most visitors allow an hour if they are having a guided tour, shop visit and toilet stop, and allow extra time to enjoy the Cafe and Cellar Door if feeling thirsty or hungry.

Enjoy a 1/2-hour guided tour of our eucalyptus distillery and an insight into the history of this unique product. Watch a 4-minute video that will show the history and distilling process. We will then give you an appreciation of our natural products with a brief product talk.

After viewing a short video and our farmgate shop and craft gallery you will head over to the Emu Ridge Café where you will experience a Kangaroo Island Cider Tasting Paddle while you nibble on our Aussie or Halloumi Damper served with our KI Eucalyptus Butter and KI Native Currant Conserve. On leaving take a Bushman’s Picnic full of local produce for you to enjoy at a later time.

You will be given a picnic hamper filled with delicious local produce that can be taken and enjoyed somewhere special on the island.

Join us for the ultimate day where you will learn about our Emu Ridge history and products, delight in a 3-course meal & local cocktail, followed by a fragrant bath salt-making experience. When you leave us you will receive a mystery gift from us to you!

Enjoy a 4-minute video that will show the past and present history and distilling process. Followed by a 1/2 hour guided tour of our eucalyptus distillery and an insight into the processing of this unique product.
After browsing our craft gallery and farmgate shop, enjoy a three-course lunch that you can choose from our delicious menu while you indulge in a cider tasting and enjoy a local cocktail of your choice.

After lunch, you will get to make and fragrance your own bottle of bath salts that you can take home for your memories and you will receive a lucious mystery gift from us when you leave.

Enjoy a relaxing informative tour with a local guide of the distillery, and a delicious Breakfast including local beverages.

Enjoy a 4-minute video presentation where you will discover the past and present history and our eucalyptus distilling process.

After the video your tour kicks off with a beverage of choice, a freshly brewed tea, hot chocolate or a coffee made with Kangaroo Islands award winning roasted coffee beans to enjoy while you are taken on a relaxing 1/2 hour walking tour around our distillery with one of our informative local guides, you will learn a great insight into the history of this truly unique Australian product, and the Turner family.

On your return you will be given a presentation about our products and uses and other great local produce available on Kangaroo Island. When you have finishing browsing our and farmgate shop, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast on our back deck

This experience is $50.00 per person and approximately 2 hours. Including a video presentation, drink, tour, shop, breakfast and fresh juice.
