Onkaparinga River Recreation Park

National Parks and Reserves

If you are interested in fishing, canoeing or photography the spectacular Onkaparinga River Recreation Park is a must. South Australia’s second largest river, the Onkaparinga, meanders through gorges before transforming into an entirely different estuary environment of wetland ponds and flood plains.

Explore the gentle estuary channels by kayak or canoe. Try your luck fishing. Ride along the cycle trails and see a variety of bird life on the river and in the ponds along the trail.

To explore the estuary environment, use the River Road entrance.
